July 2021 Update<\/strong>: We\u2019d love to say that we could take this page down, because we really want to resume our in-home service as usual. But the coronavirus delta variant continues to spread and mask mandates are reappearing in some parts of the country. So the guidance below remains relevant.

1. Stay home if you feel symptoms coming on<\/strong> or if you have exposure to someone with the illness<\/strong> or if you have at-risk relatives at home<\/strong> (elderly or with compromised immune systems) .

2. We\u2019ll ask our clients to extend the same courtesy to you: to let you know if someone may be ill in their family.

3. Wear a mask during tutoring, if you wish, and you may ask your student to do the same.

4. At the start of the lesson wash or sanitize your hands when you enter the home and ask your student to do so too. Wipe down the table where you will be working.

5<\/strong>. Avoid touching<\/strong> your student or shaking hands with the parent. Maybe a namaste gesture<\/a>?

Also updated July 2021. This page has been updated several times since posting it in March 2020. We\u2019ve come a long way, and understand more. Most of the advice we provided about wiping everything down has proven to have been overkill. Masks are the best way of preventing the spread of the virus. And, without doubt, your best protection against serious illness and to greatly reduce the risk of passing along the virus is get yourself vaccinated.<\/em>

June 2020 Update<\/strong>: We are again offering in-home homework coaching for parents who request this. Here are our guidelines for tutoring in the client's home, based on current CDC guidelines (which remain in flux so we welcome your comments).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Stay home if you feel symptoms coming on<\/strong> or if you have exposure to someone with the ilness<\/strong> or if you have at-risk relatives at home<\/strong> (elderly or with compromised immune systems) . <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If possible work outside or on a patio<\/strong>. Use a wipe on any devices you'll be using, including the student's laptop. Use the parent's wipes or cleaner if they provide them, but please also take your own supplies.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I'm writing this on June 18 when most schools have not yet decided how they will re-open in the fall. It's possible some school will adopt a hybrid system, alternating classroom days with days at home. Our services may be needed on off-days.
